a hard choice

As most of you know, I have had a lot of problems with nursing since Carson was born. I have always been a huge advocate of nursing...many research papers done on it too. I have made the decision to stop nursing. This has been one of the hardest choices I have made. I was getting bad anxiety every time he was hungry because I knew the pain was coming. Plus he has issues eating too. Altogether, I just decided that I could not take anymore and although it could get better soon, I just cannot bear to keep going.
With all of that said, (and many prayers) I feel good about my choice. It is very hard though dealing with it. There are pro's and con's to both sides. Now is the fun process of weaning my body. I hope it goes as well as it can. If anyone has any tips, let me know! For now, wish me luck and pray for me!

if nursing was causing you anxiety and pain then by all means don't do it! you'll be happier and so will your kids. being a mom of two seems hard enough, why not take advantage of anything that makes it easier. i don't think i'll nurse our second baby (whenever that happens) very long. i kind of hated it the first time but who knows. don't let anyone make you feel guilty about not nursing, for pete's sake its your body and your sanity so whatever you need, do it! :)

So sorry.. definitely understand that anxiety thing. I have experienced that with other things when having a new baby. I am so glad you came to a decision and can be comfortable with it... each baby and pregnancy is different and you have to do what you have to do. I just googled a little to see what you do to stop breastfeeding.. I found this site, hope it helps and i am sure there are a bunch more to look at.. good luck. If you ever need to talk just let me know... wish we lived closer so I could help more.. Good luck!

Oh, it made me sad to read this. Have a second is crazy without any issues (and it gets better). I'm sorry to hear. I can't believe all the hair! So cute.

You do what you have to do. Just keep on thinking that it will be ok and your little guy will be just as healthy on the bottle. Keep it up!
