Our fun filled holiday weekend

We had a busy and fun holiday weekend! Friday, we got together with friends and went out to dinner and then played games afterwards! That is always fun! Then on Saturday, we had some friends over to our place to hang out and play games again.
On the Fourth, I had to teach the Relief Society lesson on the History of Temples. I think it went ok, and I am glad to have that done! Later that day, we had a bbq although we did not bbq, we all made cafe rio salads instead and they were SO good! After that, we headed over the High School for the fireworks. We were so mad at first because the parking guys told us where we could sit, however some police officers came by a while later and not so nicely told us we HAD to move. Not thrilled because we did not want to do into the stadium, we decided to go by our cars where there was a gap of grass. Well they were the BEST seats EVER. The fireworks were right about our heads! Paige and Carson absolutely loved them and of course so did Chad and I! It was a great show!
On Monday, we headed down to the LA Zoo with our friends, the Proctors. It was a warm day, but we had a great time looking at all the animals. Afterwards, we all got together for a real bbq this time!
It was a great weekend and I would love to have more of them, but that is just wishful thinking!
After church in their 4th outfits. Carson was not too thrilled
At the fireworks show

Our friend, Katie, made some fabulous eclair's that we ate while we were waiting. Chad eats like a 2 year old!

I tend to group a lot together in one post!

Since I do not blog AS much, I tend to blog everything in one post! I can't say that I am super busy, its just that I have had, and still do to some degree, sick kids. However, its just colds and nothing more, as I learn 140 bucks later. Oh well. We have been having fun though!

Jenika got me into making flower clips and headbands. They are super cute. Look at all these flowers I got! She and I are teaching the Young Women to do it next week. I hope they enjoy it!

Paige loves to be in any picture I try to take of just Carson. Aren't they two cute kids though?!
So because I am obsessed with the hip2save.com website... I learned about hosting a party. It is super easy! All you do is apply, they send you a box full of goodies and that's it! They just SUGGEST you review it on their website. Awesome! So I won the Febreze one and they sent SOOOOO much stuff. I was not supposed to have my "party" until next week, but we cheated a little because we had people over and Shannon could not make it the next week.
All the goodies
And this is how my boy likes to fall asleep. With something over his eyes and head. Don't worry I make sure he can breathe!
I cut Carson's hair! How handsome is he? A mini Chad perhaps?!
And finally, here is a video of Carson giggling. This is technically not the first time, but the biggest one he has done and we got it on camera. I have no idea what the sound the camera is making, so try and ignore it!

Carson's blessing

I know I am a little slow at posting this, but we blessed Carson two weeks ago. Chad's parents and two of his sisters, Hayley and Brooke, came out! Chad did a fantastic job and Carson was good the whole time! He looked so stellar in his cute outfit and had a nice comfy white blanket that my mom made for him...so that their presence was there since they couldn't make it. (My brother also blessed his baby the same day!) It was a great day all around! Later that day we had a bbq for all those who participated. It was a fun night! I am so thankful to be surrounded by such wonderful people!

These are just some fun pictures I snapped

Hanging out on the beach in Malibu.
Guess what Paige is doing?...nursing her bunny. Oh boy. I don't even nurse anymore!
Paige loves to play with Carson
Smiles!
Hanging out. *Not* watching a movie ;). Carson's doctor said absolutely no tv for kids for at least 2 years. Oh well.

So much better

We have come up with a behavior sticker chart for Paige and it has worked WONDERS! She has not said one snotty thing to me since we have started it. HUGE improvement. Thanks for all the tips! They sure did help!

My mind state

I might be going crazy, or perhaps my almost 3 year old is going crazy. I need some help here. I have adjusted to having 2 kids, but not to having a snotty little toddler. The things she says and does just blows my mind. Is this a reflection of my parenting, which by the way just might need some re-vamping? I get so many comments that she is such a wonderful and obedient little girl and I just laugh...why is it that she is horrible for me then? She loves to say "You don't tell me that MOM!" - Whatever that means. Plus the little snot face she makes drives me crazy! I love the moments everyday where she is my sweet little Paige and I try to tell her as much as I can that I love it when she obeys, etc. Hoping that being positive would work. I have tried to eliminate the word "No" but saw no change whatsoever. I know this is my time for the terrible two (meaning 2 YEARS!) but I am at my wits end some days with the way she talks to me and diliberately disobeys. Any tips for a naughty toddler? Don't get me wrong, this is not all the time, but daily. I just want my happy and obedient little girl back!
