saving graces

Brace yourselves folks, this is food/weight post.  I must share some things with the few of you that read my blog.  First thing...I have ONE pound left to lose to meet my goal.  Of course I want to lose more, but I know that is obtainable now!  I have been worried and have had many conversations with Chad about keeping the weight off.  Life changes happen and I don't want them to put me back to where I was.  However, this was not only a weightloss journey.  It was a life makeover.  I know how my body works.  I did not totally eliminate anything out of my diet.  I must say though that after looking at foods and feeling the affects they have on my body, I no longer eat a lot of foods because of the way they make me feel.  One thing that I have severely decreased is gluten.  I have a friend who has Celiac's and I have leanred a lot about it.  IBS is very similar to Celiac's.  Because I have limited my intake of gluten, I feel so much better!  I always thought that it would be so rough to be on a gluten free diet, but I am pretty sure I could do it. I try to make things gluten free when possible.
OK on to my saving graces.  I have foods that honestly save me from binge-ing(if I spell that binging, that does not seem right ???) and help control my cravings.  Grapes.  I have talked about those before.  Amazing.  Pretty much any fruit will do the trick though.  Also I love so many veggies now.  Given I seem to like my steamed broccoli with a tiny bit of A1...weird I know.  We eat a lot of edamame.  Yes its a soybean.  My kids are addicted to it.  And lastly, trader joes reduced guilt brownies.  I am in love with these!!  They are dangerous.  I put some mint chocolate chips on top and oh boy!  Also, I have to say that anyone who says they can't go out to eat and eat healthy needs a readjustment.  So many restaurants and even fast foods have light menus.  It has opened my eyes to so many new things to try! And I have learned that you can substitute just about everything.  You are paying the money, so get it how YOU want.
So go out and eat healthy!

Oh great, now I am hungry!  Bring on the grapes.
